LLP (Sports)
Discover how Yu Neng's sports programme builds character and values in every student, from active recess play to global sports exchanges.
Our Mission
Anchored in our school values of GR3IT – Graciousness, Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, Integrity, and Teamwork – our LLP aims to cultivate in students a strong character and a mindset of excellence and continual growth through an inclusive and engaging sports culture.
Why “subject” matters
The programme aims to provide all students, regardless of background or starting point, with opportunities to experience a wide range of sports in a fun and engaging environment, while developing sportsmanship and nurturing the potential of students with interest and aptitude to achieve their personal best. It leverages sports as a platform to cultivate leadership competencies, put values into action, and encourage students to contribute meaningfully to the community. In addition, the programme seeks to enhance students’ cultural and global awareness through sports education, appreciation, and experiential learning.
Our Key Programmes
GOal Play: Sports Discover & Sports Grow
Sports GR3IT
Provides the opportunity for students to participate in sports competition to learn values such as Graciousness, Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, Integrity and Teamwork. This is an annual event where students will represent their Houses to compete in Sports and Games

Values Through Sports Programme
Provide a platform for students to demonstrate good sportsmanship & GR3IT through game play during PE lessons. Students will then complete a reflection based on what they have learnt and experience in the Reflection Booklet.

Sports Education Program (SEP)
SEP is a collaborative partnership between Sport Singapore (SportSG) and the School. The SEP aims to advocate the importance of sports education, encourage sports participation in the school and increases the sporting opportunities for the students. SEP enhances pupils’ learning experience and interest in sports by exposing them to activities not included in the school’s CCAs or PE curriculum. More importantly, the SEP sports programmes caters for development of skills and sports knowledge of students and help promote active participation of sports in schools. The programmes also promote team spirit and character building, and aim to arouse interest in continual sports participation amongst students.

Active YN Recess Play
Provides a safe and inclusive environment for all pupils regardless of their strengths and starting points to try out and participate in the different types of games and modified games. This is in line with the nationwide initiative to promote healthy lifestyle amongst Singaporeans. Research studies have shown that getting children to be more active has benefits, as obesity rates among schoolchildren have risen in recent years, from 10 per cent in 2000 to 12 per cent in 2014. Special games and/or mass exercises are organised to encourage pupils of all levels to take part. Sports equipment are available for loan during recess to encourage self-directed and ‘unstructured’ play.

GOal Ambassadors: Sports Cheer & Sports Inspire
P6 Sports Carnival
Leverage sports as a vehicle for P6 students to contribute towards Values-In-Action and to hone their leadership competencies. The P6 students will work in groups to design and create a game or sports for the carnival. They are also required to man a booth to promote their games to the school. It is also fund raising carnival where all proceeds go to charity.
The Co-Curriculum Activities (CCAs)
The Co-Curriculum Activities (CCAs) provide pupils with opportunities to put the 'values-in-action’ (VIA), so that they can contribute and make a difference to the community. Pupils are also given opportunities to take the lead to contribute to the school and the communityGOal Global: Sports Connect
World of Sports
To heighten cultural and global awareness in our students through sports education and appreciation. Lessons will be carried out to introduce world major sporting events to our students via SLS and assembly talks.
Sports & Cultural Immersion Programme
This programme aims to enhance students’ global awareness through sports education, experiential learning, and cultural appreciation. It also seeks to develop 21st-century competencies such as global awareness and cross-cultural skills, preparing students to thrive in an increasingly globalised world.
Selected students will engage in online interactions with overseas partner schools, allowing them to connect with their counterparts while exchanging ideas and experiences. Through these interactions, students will acquire new knowledge while sharing Singapore’s culture.
